How To Bake Tea Scones



Soft,Crumbly Tea Scones Recipe.

This is a simple breakfast/snack recipe….

Ingredients

16 -17 pieces

  • 500 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 100grams sugar
  • 130grams of margarine
  • 30 grams of cooking oil
  • 2 eggs + 1 egg
  • cinnamon (optional)
  • 5tsp of baking powder
  • hot water
  • desiccated coconut (optional)

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

2. Separately measure all components

3. Lightly grease or line a baking tray with parchment paper.

4. Combine sugar, margarine, and cooking oil in a large mixing bowl and stir until well combined.

5. add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition to ensure the mixture does not curdle.

6. Combine the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon in a sieve.

Rub in the ingredients with your fingertips until it resembles fine bread crumbs.

7. Pour in a small amount of hot water at a time. Knead until a sticky dough forms.

8. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to approximately 2cm thick and cut out scones with a cookie cutter. Re-roll the pieces and cut out additional scones until the dough is gone. Place the scones on a baking tray.

9. Brush the scones with an egg wash, top the egg wash with desiccated coconut then bake them for 15–18 minutes in the center of the oven at 180°C, or until they have risen and become a light golden color.

10. Remove the pan from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool. serve warm or cool
