How to make Chicken Tandoori

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Kienyeji chicken
  • 1 piece ginger
  • a clove of garlic
  • red, yellow, and green bell pepper
  • chili flakes
  • 2 big red onions
  • black pepper 
  •  tandoori masala
  • salt
  • paprika
  • garam masala
  • coriander
  • tomatoes  

Method

  1. Boil the chicken in salted water until tender. Drain and set aside the water (you can also sieve the water and use it as broth)
  2. Separately combine the ginger, garlic, and onions.
  3. Blend together the red, yellow, green, and tomatoes until smooth.

  4. In a large skillet or Wok, combine the ginger, garlic, and onion with the chicken and cook over low heat.
  5. Cook the smooth sauce in a different pan.
  6. In a small mixing bowl, combine the chili flakes, black pepper, tandoori masala, paprika, and garam masala. a Tablespoon of water, combine and add to the sauce
  7. Allow the sauce to cook for a few minutes.

  8. Then stir in the sauce with the chicken.
  9. In a separate pan, sauté the remaining onion until soft.
  10. Remove the chicken from the fire after adding the onion and leaving it for a few minutes.
  11. Serve with rice or ugali and garnished with coriander.

N.B If you want to use a pressure cooker, you can follow the same instructions.
